Frequently asked questions

  • Working with a coach helps you clarify what you want and how to get there faster, and possibly with more warmth and ease than doing it on your own. Having a partner keeps you on your path and challenges you as needed.

The structure and accountability in coaching can allow you to learn and grow in ways you might not be able to on your own. A coach celebrates your learnings and achievements, and is by your side to navigate the journey.

  • Coaching is for anyone ready to make a change in their life. Maybe you are:

    • Fearful of taking the leap

    • Feeling stuck

    • Overwhelmed with options

    • Unsure of what you want

    • Wanting to change habits or narratives that no longer serve you

    • Curious about more purpose and meaning in your life

    • Longing to awaken a part of you that has been covered

  • After the Discovery session, we will meet every other week and can email between sessions as needed. There will be fieldwork (think homework which is personal, interesting and challenging) in between sessions to ensure that your growth and momentum continues in a meaningful way for you. Field work is a way for us to create accountability in the area of focus for that particular session. Through our structured sessions, your work and accountability, your movement forward is happening. Things are changing for you.

I am based in Northern California and offer coaching via zoom or phone calls.

  • It depends on your goals and you. Making changes takes time. Many clients start with a 6-month offering (12 sessions total). We can explore what feels right for you depending on where you are currently and what your goals are for your next chapter. Some clients continue beyond 12-months. Some clients return to coaching for "tune-ups" periodically.

  • Coaching is an exploration of self, goals and possibilities. Coaching is goal-oriented - a topic is set at the beginning of each session and there may be homework between sessions. Coaching can have a therapeutic effect but it is not therapy.

Therapists are trained to diagnose and work with clients who may have mental health challenges, and coaches are not. Coaching is primarily focused on the present and future, and not as much on the past. Some people have both a coach and a therapist to support them on their journey.
